Transfers By Size: quick, easy, and affordable ordering
Upload your artwork, choose your print dimensions and quantity, and review the calculated price. No gang-sheet layout needed. This transfer-only option is priced by artwork area; you heat press the transfers onto your own apparel.
Gang sheets: arrange multiple designs together
Fit your designs onto a fixed sheet or a continuous rolling layout. Pricing depends on the selected sheet or printed length. Efficient placement can lower the cost per transfer, so compare the total for your finished layout.
Finished apparel: choose your garment and printing
Select a shirt or other garment and its print options to see the calculated total. Garment style, size, print placements, dimensions, and quantity affect the price. Large print placements can use full-roll-width billing.
You are free to choose whichever option works best for your project. Each option has its own pricing; review the product's calculated price before adding it to your cart.
01 / Exact-size artwork
How much does one DTF print cost?
For DTF Transfers By Size, multiply your artwork width by height to find the area in square inches. The total artwork area across your order determines the rate. You do not pay for a full sheet when ordering a single exact-size design.
These prices are for transfers only. Transfers By Size is priced by artwork area. Gang sheets and finished apparel have separate pricing based on the option you choose. Compare your order total and choose what works best for your project.
| Artwork size | Print area | Approx. cost |
|---|---|---|
| 3 × 3 in | 9 sq in | $0.34 |
| 4 × 4 in | 16 sq in | $0.61 |
| 8 × 10 in | 80 sq in | $3.04 |
| 10 × 12 in | 120 sq in | $4.56 |
| 12 × 12 in | 144 sq in | $5.47 |
Example: 8 × 10 inches = 80 square inches. At $0.0380 per square inch, one transfer is $3.04. Examples use entered dimensions without optional services; builder sizing and rounding determine the final quote.
How size and quantity unlock lower rates
| Total print area | Rate per sq in |
|---|---|
| Up to 270 sq in | $0.0380 |
| Over 270–540 sq in | $0.0342 |
| Over 540–810 sq in | $0.0323 |
| Over 810–1080 sq in | $0.0304 |
The final rate continues above the last area threshold. Each threshold includes its upper limit. These are already discounted rates; do not subtract another percentage. Upload your artwork and quantity to confirm the combined-area quote.
How much do 1, 10, or 50 DTF transfers cost?
These IndyColor Transfers By Size examples show one design at the same dimensions, ordered in different quantities. The combined artwork area selects the rate for the whole batch. Each example is a separate order without other designs or optional services.
| Quantity | Approx. per transfer | Approx. total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $0.34 | $0.34 |
| 10 | $0.34 | $3.42 |
| 50 | $0.31 | $15.39 |
| Quantity | Approx. per transfer | Approx. total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $3.04 | $3.04 |
| 10 | $2.58 | $25.84 |
| 50 | $2.43 | $121.60 |
| Quantity | Approx. per transfer | Approx. total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $5.47 | $5.47 |
| 10 | $4.38 | $43.78 |
| 50 | $4.38 | $218.88 |
All example totals are approximate and exclude garments, pressing, tax, shipping, and optional services. Per-transfer figures are rounded for comparison; totals use the unrounded unit price, so multiplying the displayed per-transfer figure can differ by a few cents. Review the builder quote for your actual artwork and quantity before ordering.
02 / Multiple designs
How much do DTF gang sheets cost?
A gang sheet combines several designs on one sheet. You pay for the sheet or printed length, so using the space efficiently can lower the cost per design. Compare the whole order: a small exact-size transfer can cost less than buying unused sheet space.
Not sure how much sheet you need? Use our free gang sheet cost calculator to combine artwork sizes and quantities, preview the layout, and estimate sheet length and transfer price before ordering.
Rolling gang sheets: price by printed length
IndyColor rolling sheets use a 22.5-inch printable width. One linear foot is that width × 12 inches of length. The configured minimum length is 2 feet; the per-foot rate is not a one-foot minimum order.
| Printed length tier | Approx. cost per foot |
|---|---|
| Up to 20 ft | $7.02 |
| Over 20–50 ft | $6.32 |
| Over 50–100 ft | $5.97 |
| Over 100–300 ft | $5.62 |

4-foot sheet
$28.0822.5 × 48 inches
Approximate transfer-only total
25-foot sheet
$157.9522.5 × 300 inches

Totals use the full square-inch rate before rounding, so multiplying a rounded per-foot figure may differ by a few cents. Final layout length, optional services, and the builder quote determine the purchase total.
Choose a rolling gang sheet for continuous layouts, or choose a fixed gang sheet size and review its current sheet price before building. Fixed sheet prices and discounts are separate from the rolling rates above.
How to calculate cost per print on a gang sheet
Divide your sheet total by the number of usable designs on that sheet. Keep the required spacing and cutting margins, and do not shrink artwork below the finished size you need just to fit more designs. A tightly packed sheet saves money only when its prints are usable.
Why large designs use more gang-sheet length
Two designs that fit side by side share the same row of film. When they are too wide to fit together, they need separate rows, using more length. Count the finished artwork dimensions and the required gaps and margins when comparing sheet costs.
| Two designs | Across the sheet | Length used |
|---|---|---|
| 10 × 12 in each | 20 in across; room for two in one row | 12 in plus spacing and margins |
| 12 × 12 in each | 24 in needed across; requires two rows | 24 in plus spacing and margins |
These examples explain film usage, not a guaranteed fit into a particular sheet size. The final arrangement, rotation, gaps, and margins determine the actual length. Two large designs can share a row only if their combined widths and required spacing fit within the printable width.
03 / Finished apparel
Is a DTF transfer price the same as a printed T-shirt price?
No. A transfer-only order gives you printed artwork to heat press onto apparel. A finished shirt also includes the garment and its selected printing. Garment style, size, print dimensions, placements, and quantity affect that total.
The transfer examples on this page do not quote our finished-apparel printing charges. For an accurate shirt price, select your apparel product, color, size, and print options. For teams or mixed apparel orders, request a bulk quote.
How our apparel calculator handles wide prints
Our current apparel pricing uses a 22.5-inch roll width and a two-across cutoff of 11.25 inches. A placement wider than 11.25 inches uses full-roll-width billing: roll width × print height × quantity. The accumulated roll length determines the wide-print rate tier.
This accounts for the film used when two wide prints cannot share a row. Narrower apparel placements use the normal artwork-area pricing. The exact-size transfer prices earlier in this guide belong to the Transfers By Size product; use the apparel product's calculated price when ordering a finished shirt.

DTF pricing questions
Are tax and shipping included?
No. The examples show transfer-only prices in US dollars. Applicable tax, shipping, and any optional services are separate. Review your final total at checkout. Indianapolis local pickup is available; wait for your order-ready notification before visiting.
Which ordering option should I choose?
Choose Transfers By Size for a quick, easy upload without arranging a gang sheet. Choose a fixed or rolling gang sheet when you want to arrange multiple designs on film. Choose finished apparel when you want the garment with printing. Compare the total for your artwork, quantity, shipping, and any services, then choose the option that suits your project.
Does ordering more reduce the price per transfer?
It can. Transfers By Size uses combined artwork area to select a rate, and rolling sheets use printed length tiers. Size, layout, and order method matter alongside quantity. The builder shows the applicable quote before you add to cart.
What artwork should I upload?
Use artwork at its intended print dimensions, with a transparent background when appropriate. Check resolution and remove unwanted background areas before ordering. Ask us to review uncertain files rather than buying a size that may not print as expected.
